No more tax free weekends in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) - Back to school shopping is right around the corner, but this year there will not be a statewide sales tax exemption.

In previous years Louisiana residents have enjoyed 3 tax free holidays each year, including a back to school sale the first Friday and Saturday in August.

During the last Special Legislative Session that ended in June, state lawmakers were tasked with balancing the budget all while avoiding cuts to crucial services.
