Louisiana Tax Free Shopping opens Tanger Outlet refund store for tourists

Louisiana Tax Free Shopping, a program that refunds state sales taxes international visitors pay on goods, has opened a fifth refund store in Tanger Outlets in Gonzales.

The store, which opened Thursday, gives tourists cash rebates for any taxes they paid on items purchased at more than 1,500 stores. This includes such well-known retailers as Walmart, Macy’s, Best Buy, The Gap and Sears. Major shopping centers such as The Shops at Canal Place in New Orleans and the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge have retailers eligible for the refunds.
