Louisiana 6th in national business climate ranking

Louisiana has the sixth-most business-friendly climate in the nation, according to Area Development magazine's "2012 Top States for Doing Business," survey results released today. The magazine says it culls its annual ranking from surveys with "the nation's leading site selection consultants." Louisiana placed even higher in some of the 14 varying categories that make up the overall ranking. It got the No. 1 ranking for Cooperative State Government, No. 2 for Incentive Programs, No. 3 for Workforce Development Programs, as well as Speed of Permitting, and No. 4 for Cost of Doing Business. Louisiana also ranked No. 6 overall in the magazine's list last year.
