La. Tax Commission administrator arrested on payroll fraud, other charges bonds out of jail

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An administrator with the Louisiana Tax Commission (LTC) who was arrested Friday on multiple charges has bonded out of jail.
Louisiana State Police reported Charles Abels III, 51, of Baton Rouge, is facing charges related to his job.
Sgt. Jared Sandifer with LSP said the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations began looking into possible wrongdoing by Abels in May 2018 after being contacted by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor (LLA) regarding possible payroll fraud by Abels.
